
Youssef Sibih
Youssef E. Sibih, BA, is a medical student at UCSF School of Medicine. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Youssef is interested in using electrophysiological methods to study the interplay between glioma-related neural alterations in cortical excitation and inhibition and their impact on cognitive function. He is currently leading a project with a special focus on quantitative electrophysiologic biomarkers of glioma-induced hyperexcitability. He is also passionate about addressing health disparities in neurosurgical oncology care, with a focus on understanding how socioeconomic factors influence access to treatment and outcomes in patients with gliomas. Outside of the lab, Youssef enjoys street/landscape photography and spending time with his family and friends.
